Can anybody tell me if this thing is worth a darn? My Dad just say it works and thats pretty much it. We have had it for about 5 years and it only has about 20 mins on it. Best of all we only payed 100 bucks for it.
I guess my question is, could this thing like do bumpers and cages? I can’t do…

Tonight, me and the G/F go to eat dinner at this Italian joint. It’s a local chain. It was in celebration of her Dad’s and little sis’s birthday.
So, I order this seafood/pasta dish. This was at around, 8pm or so. Anyway, about 10 minutes ago, I start getting some mild stomach pains. I didn’t…

I got a SBC/trans/case. The guy had it in the frame still and fired it up for a moment so I could see it was decent. Got the whole mess cheap so it will be a good start for my YJ. The case is a 203, so that is for sale. I plan to use my NP208 I already have.
Turned out the SBC is a 305. I don’t want to hear any crap about go get a 350. It’s fine for what I’m building.
My plan:
Run on propane
High compression
Good torque
Not a race motor, doesn’t need to rev high
I want to get high compression for running pane. Like 12:1 I’m thinking.
Now, what will it take to get there? I want to get my block bored at least 0.030. I am looking into Vortec heads for it cause I read they will be better flow and little larger valves than my heads. Do I need to machine the heads for lower cc to get the comp ratio? Should the block get milled down? Do I need dome top pistons, or flats? What kind of cam is good for all this? I hear there are propane specific cams, but haven’t read anything on them yet. If I’m told I need a high lift cam then will regular Vortec heads work? They are only good for a limited lift right? I’m thinking about a Edelbrock Air gap intake.
I was told pane would be a loss of power, so I want to build the engine to perform well on it. I could just slap this engine back together and hit the trail, but where’s the fun in that? I want to at least modify some stuff.
I can’t go crazy with money, cause I don’t have much of it and there are other things that need done like a rebuild of the TH350 trans. If I can afford to do all this by mid Nov then I can get it done in time. I have to move in Dec and it will prob be stuck in storage for an unknown time. The YJ runs and drives now, so I won’t tear into it unless I can get this all done in time. Money drives the schedule, so the cheaper this build is the better.
I’m not changing engines, don’t want to hear how I should dump this and get a 350. This is fine for a little YJ and will have plenty of power for me.
All the stuff I can find online for building engines is about street performace and I want more low end power and could care less about the top end. I don’t drive my YJ above 50mph. It’s not street legal and just a trail rig.
They don’t talk about building the comp #’s I want to achieve, so it’s tough for me to know how to plan this build.
Thanks
All help is appreciated

I’m currently driving a 96 PSD. I bought this to see if it would be worth it to get a diesel or if i was just jerking off! Needles to say it was worth it! Now that i’m hooked, i want to upgrade to something that rides nicer and runs quieter! Everyone i’ve talked to says Duramax is the way to go, plus i’m a born bread Chevy man!
I have heard about some problems with the Duramax’s over-heating problems, what years was this a problem? What times did this problem occur?(towing 15000 lbs. in dessert or driving empty down the interstate?) I want to leave the truck fairly stock, maybe straight pipe and intake, thats it! Will anything like that hurt mileage, longevity, or performance of the Duramax? I’m looking between 2000 and 2003 model trucks… newer if i can get it, but i want to get lower mileage on the truck? What temps. do the trans run at? Can i do a tranny flush and filter on a higher mileage, like 100,xxx to 120,xxx miles on it and not hurt the trans? What gear ratios are you guys running? and what kind of fuel mileage are you getting with them? What does the tow package include? Basically guys i’m looking for anything and everything that one could possible want to know when buying a $25,000 truck! Anything you guys can possibly provide for me would be most appreciated! Thanks to any of you who respond.

I found a carb to TBI adapter, but I need the opposite.
I want to put a ‘91 TBI 350 in an ‘85 that currently has a carb’d 350 with internal issues.
I was thinking about adapting over the intake from the carb motor, but then I found a carb-to-tbi adapter in a search, so I’m thinking life would be…

Jesus was in Heaven and God came to him and said "My son, you seem deep in thought." "Yes, Father, i’m so tired. There just seems to be so much violence and disasters on earth, i just sometimes don’t know what to do. " God says "My son, you are stressed out. Why don’t you take a vacation." Jesus thinks for a minute and decides that’s a good idea.
Jesus pops down to earth and he’s walking along a country highway when a trucker stops. "Son, you look really tired. Climb on up in here and i’ll give ya a ride. Jesus accepts the truckers offer and climbs into the truck.
They get a few miles down the highway and the trucker says "Son, ya look thirsty. Why don’t ya reach back there into the ice chest and grab us a couple sodas?" Jesus reaches back and gets two sodas from the ice chest and hands one to the trucker. They drink the sodas as they drive on down the highway.
They get a few miles down the road and the trucker says "Son, ya look hungry. My wife makes the best ham sandwiches in the world. Why don’t ya reach back there into the ice chest and grad us one." Jesus reaches back and gets two sandwiches from the ice chest and hands the trucker one. They finish the sandwiches as they drive on down the highway.
They get a few miles down the road and the trucker says "Son, i always like ta finish off a meal with a nice joint. Care to join me?" Jesus thinks for a minute and decides since he’s on vacation, why not. The trucker says "Son, i gotta tell ya, this is some really good ****." They smoke the joint as they drive on down the highway.
Jesus thinks for awhile and decides he should tell the trucker who he is. Jesus looks at the trucker and says "I must tell you that i am Jesus Christ, Son of God." The trucker smiles and says "I told ya that was some really good ****."
RIP Peggy. I hope you’re ridin’ that Harley in Heaven. May your long blond hair blow in the wind forever.

Ken and Debbie spread Jason’s ashes on an overlook just off the Gold Bar Rim trail on Saturday morning. We sat and did a lot of laughing and crying overlooking what is now Jason’s final resting place.
I’ll just let the pictures say the rest.

The step-sons first real purchase for a vehicle…he wanted something turbo but was in no financially secure area to get a WRX or Evo so the next best thing he could afford was this
used with ~50k miles on it, it’s an ‘04
We made him sign a contract that:
1. ANY traffic violations he will be responsible for the increased insurance difference
2. The car remains in his mother’s name until he is 21 or the loan is paid (whichever comes first)
3. $350 a month
4. We will cover tax, stickers and tags…
We also want him to work on building his credit so he is a co-signer on the loan
I tell you what this M’fer fucking flies..it has the stage 2 and borla exhaust WITH the "Turbo Toys" from Mopar
I like it…I’m just to tall for it

I have replaced the following parts or serviced parts in order over a 4 month period. 1. Mass Air Flow 2. Cleaned EGR Thoroughly. 3. Replaced PCV and Grommet. 4. Replaced Intake Manifold Gaskets (both upper and lower). 5. Cleaned the Intake Air Control. Used clening kit to wash and oil the K&N Air Filter.
The problem improved when I cleaned the IAC so I wonder if it needs replaced or should I move on to the fuel pressure regulator or the MAF sensor?
Please, I ask for your wisdom and I am sorry for the lengthy post. I just want to be thorough so there is limited confusion. Thank You

The Montana Department of Commerce is working on a new Tourism and Recreation Strategic plan. Why? Because out-of-state tourist dollars mean big bucks for Montana’s Economy:
http://travelmontana.mt.gov/2008strategicplan/
Check out the Markets, Strategies, and Implementation Chapters. In a nutshell, they’re thinking that targeting the high-dollar, "low-impact", geotourism/ecotourism niche will be the best bang for the Montana tourism advertising buck.
Let’s show them that you’d love to come to Montana to enjoy driving the routes in Montana State Forests and National Forest lands, and that you’ll spend big bucks doing so. Off-highway vehicle recreation is a growing market segment, and contrary to dissenting opinion, is very minimal-impact. It is a way to target mobility-impaired tourists, as well.
Comment email:
Anna Holden - Project Manager
The Hingston Roach Group
aholden@thrgroup.com
Sample email:
–
Dear Ms. Holden,
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on Montana’s new Tourism and Recreation Strategic plan. I am a longtime visitor to Montana, and my family and I love visiting Montana for adventure travel. We appreciate that most Montana forest routes are open for off-highway travel. Scenic drives and camping in your gorgeous state are tough to beat, and we appreciate that not all scenic vistas are hike-to only. It’s great that we’ll be able to get into the Montana backcountry even into our retirement years.
Please remind the tourism planners that not all eco-tourists are hikers, and that we enjoy exploring Montana in motorized vehicles. Snowmobile, motorcycle, ATV, and off-highway vehicle manufacturers have all responded positively to make these motorized vehicles minimally polluting and very low impact. We’ve invested in our new modes of transport and look forward to using them in Montana.
The hospitality we have been shown in past visits to Montana has been unmatched, and we look forward to future visits to such a beautiful state.
Sincerely,

We cought this one after a day spent on Sherman Hill. We came back into town and decided to set up & eat our dinner on the tailgate of my Dad’s Chevy Blazer.
This runby was shot at the west end of Cheyenne. The train is headig west out of town towards Sherman Hill. It’s almost dark in the middle of June or July and quite windy. I’m guessing the temp is in the hi 50’s to low 60’s .
